    Wow KipKay,
This store is great! Your prices are really low. Too low as a matter of fact, lol. I’m so happy to see someone that cares about their fans so much. I will be a fan for life! And I will for sure tell everyone I know about your site and how well you take care of your SuperFans! Please don’t change.

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Looks like the beginnings of a go-to store to me! I use the CR2032 Battery in most of my projects and this is the best price I’ve seen, nice job Kip!

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

! YES ! Slowly but surely. If you have any parts, request it!

    • I’m not going to lie when I say that this brings a tear to my eye

do the LED throwie kits come with blinkies and fireflies or no

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Currently no – but we have a couple of blinkies & fireflies left in stock that we’ll list up soon!

    • I remember your question. It is very unfortunate but we ran out of everything in that department.

  • Michael Frogget

I am a current college student who cannot afford any of the monthly
subscriptions. This store is a great way to pick up any DIY kits at a
great price when I know funds are available for certain kits. I am
    excited!

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

      Great!

      • Jimmy loves to use exclamations points after everything.

        • JakeyFlower

thank you so much i love you kippy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kevin

You had the original led cube prototype circuit board on here while the store was in beta, the one with the slot for the power adapter, but I don’t see it anymore. I was hoping to buy one this week during the sale, actually 2 lol. Can you please list this item again?

  • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Thanks everyone for the great launch! The response has been AMAZING! While we can’t do this everyday, this is a sincere token of appreciation for sticking us for an entire year!! For some of you that have been with us since Day 1, you know how crazy the ride has been (from the moment we started emailing all of you guys about how the tins would arrive “on time” – to the moment where we designed an ambitious Arduino that drove everyone NUTS!).

Thank you again and please do enjoy the extra discounts before they’re gone!

  • Dan Aaronson

Is there a return policy? And if so then what are the details?

    • If you return the product in 30 days and everything isn’t purposefully destroyed…a refund will be issued!

  • Mouli mouli r

    Do you ship to india?

    • Yes we ship to Indai!

  • jason

Do you have a kit for the fire cell phone charger?

    • Techmov

      I hope so

  • zeka

i just got given 2 of the hobbiest soler planner charger kits and was wandering how i would go about making them work together with 2 usb ports and both aa battery holders thanks for your help

    • bigred200

if i where you i would build them both separately or you could use the instructions for the one with double panels and just have extra parts…..

  • fyzz08

    Hi Kipkay
I am following you since March but as I’m a student living in Europe paying the extra fee for shipping every kit is too much. I also read your weekly tutorials with eager interest.
With your 30%+40% I bought the kits I was interested in.
About the BONUS =P I think you can throw in some “Blinkies” / “Fireflies” when you ship the kits.
Thank you for the great job you’re doing !

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Hey Fyzz08 the blinkies and fireflies are up for sale now 🙂

      • Lavoz24

He means throw them in for free. Not a whole kit, maybe one or two with every kit shipped out.

        • fyzz08

          you’ve got the main point

      • fyzz08

Looks like kip’s giving out a free minecraft torch kit for those who ordered the last few days.

Could this kit be included in the box with the other kits I ordered so there will be no other shipping costs? If not will the shipping be free [EUROZONE]?

  • Dan Rivera

Kip, Congrats on the New Store. I have been a fan of yours for a very long time. I just love this. One Project I Dont see here is the robot Spy Tank. Id love to see that as a kit.

    • Charles Bass

I too have been a fan for a while and i would LOVE to see the robot spy tank as a kit

  • Lavoz24

    KipKay,
suggestions to give out bonus’,rewards, etc. for your SuperFans.
Since most of your SuperFans ask for lasers, you could do a laser give away. As a monthly build, you could do a laser communicator!like when you point the laser at a photo resistor you could hear sound. You could do gift cards, a 1 hr. video chat to help a SuperFan with their build. Motion detector video recorder. For the spring/summer, you could do something with a plant, something to let you know when the plant needs water(you could even include a pot, seeds, dirt, etc.), using our Arduino and servos, you could make an automatic blind opener and closer(use photo resistors to know when to open and close the blinds. Sort of like what street lamps and security lights have).
As I think of more I’ll keep posting.

  • Timothy Ford

    A suggestion or two about possible bonus content in regards to the email I received today, are;
1: An automatic upgrade. When you purchase a “base line” kit a nice bonus would be to have that upgraded to the next level Kipkay Kit. If you are purchasing the top level kit thought an upgrade to that which would be nice would be a free “base line” kit to have an “extra” on hand or, a “base line” kit that complements the “Guru” kit that you have purchased.
2: As a Kipkay Kits subscriber there’s a monthly bill incurred. A nice bonus would be to get a month subscription free or, a break from the payment for one month. That free month could be applied at any time during a one year time period starting from the date of the bonus. Or maybe for non subscription individuals who purchase a Kipkay Kit, a free subscription could be awarded.. One month for certain “base line” purchases and for limited mystery advanced Kipkay Kits 3 or 6 months membership is offered. And then for a rare purchase such as a certain tool purchased a long with a certain specific Guru Kipkay Kit a full year be awarded to Kipkay Kits.
So you wanted a suggestion… I give you a mouth full lol! Great jof all of you who help make this all come together and work! The store and services that Kip and the Kipkay team offer is truly amazing.

  • Logan53003

A specific kit I would like to see would be an Airsoft grenade.

    • MiningSheep1

I guess you weren’t overestimating the kit like everyone on YouTube 🙂

      • Logan53003

        LOL (:

  • Captain Awesome

Hey Kipkay, i’m a french student and i would like to know something , If
i buy one of your kit (I would like to buy the USB solar charger) can
it be delivered to my door in France ?

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Hi Captain, yes we do deliever to france!

      • Captain Awesome

Thank you so much, and the price of the delivery is still 5 USD ?

        • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

International is $15. There’s no way around it Captain. That’s how much it costs us to ship to you!

  • Techmov

    HI JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HI KIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anon

I would like to see another kit with a motor or servo in it.

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

      I believe we’re working on one 🙂

    • Testing

  • patricola05

I plan on making one of the solar panel charges in the future. Not sure if I should try the one with 1 solar panel or 2

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Start with one then go from there!

  • Jerome Meredith

Love the new store, and the current sale is amazing! As for suggestions, liquid flux is a must for any of the surface soldering. Also, maybe some desoldering wick. My favorite video of yours is the acrylic Rubik’s Cube. I know there’s no electronics, but but that would be a cool kit as well.

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Thanks! We have the materials for it – we’re trying to source some cheaper magnets. We might put it up actually in the very near future.

  • Linus Belin

How does it work with the adapter in EU 230 volt and how does it, for example the DIY speaker, work when you charge it with 230 volt?

    • mclarenclarkson

Don’t charge it on EU 230V! USA Mains are 110V/120V so if you charge something i.e speaker then it is going to potentially catch fire or even explode!

  • Lavoz24

I went in to your store the other and got something that had 23 pages and everything you’ve ever made plus extra parts. When I go in now I can’t seem to find it. Was it a mistake or were you performing a test? I ask because I wanted to buy the blinkies and fireflies kit for my nieces and cousins but can’t find them.

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

      Up now!

      • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

        Check below under “latest”

  • Mark

These prices are awesome, and I love having the store available without subscription. Thank you for being one of the few small shops that doesn’t take advantage of our wallets. Good luck!

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Hey Mark, thank you for the kind compliment! We really appreciate it! It’s our goal to get this into the hands of as many people as possible!

  • Bogdan Balagurak

So many options!! I want to get the light up coaster or 2 solar panel usb charger!! I won the raffle so i get a 70% off!

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Congrats! I hope you see something good you like. I totally recommend those two kits, although my favorite is the clock 🙂

  • DMartin

First of all.. I feel like royalty with your customer service. I have never had such a nice experience as the one i had with kipkaykits and Jonathan. KUDOS and pat yourselves on the back.. you deserve it.

I do have a few small requests. If possible can you had button cell battery holders. Either the type you solder to the board or with short leads. Even better with switch wired inline. Kinda like the ones below.

    http://www.smallscalelights.co.uk/ccdata/images/imageMain_23_59.jpg

    Small motors of any kind.
    A selection of magnets
    Thanks again.. You guys rock

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

They should be up soon in the next 1-2 weeks. We do have battery holders for coin cells!

  • A few days ago you sent an email to everyone saying to suggest new kit ideas so here is mine. My idea is a lazy machine basically its the alarm clock and the door unlocker combined to create a machine that when the alarm clock goes of it sends a message to the door unlocker to open your blinds and/or curtains.

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Would be possible, but probably hard to pull off under a $20 budget though 😛 But we’ve been thinking about multi-month kits, so stay tuned!

      • Thanks Jimmy!

        • Lavoz24

Actually, if you had the Kipduino and combine it with the popsi door lock/opener kit you could rig it so it could open and close your blinds at a certain time. Like open at 7am and close at 5/6pm. You would just need to find a place in which to set them them up.

          • Which Kipduino the beginners or the advanced?

          • Lavoz24

You can use both but if you don’t have much money you can just use the beginner with a photo resistor and a servo or just buy the advanced popsi lock kit and rig it to work with a photo resistor and get it to work.

          • Lavoz24

I would go with the advanced because it has the ATMega328 and for me, if it’s bigger you could load bigger programs to it like the timer, how much the servo should turn, etc.

          • Brandon Fa

You can go on ebay and upgrade to the 328 by simply poping the 8 and replacing it with the 328 from ebay. P.S it costs $2

  • David Benge

If the free mine craft torch does not come with the chip needed to make it flicker will we be able to purchase it from here or where can we get one. I am very thankful for the free giveaway! I just want to make the most of what I got!

    • Hey David, nnnThe beginner kit is the one with the flickering!

  • Rik Hugill

would love to see some better europe duistribution savins thats the only thing stopping me buying is the postage cost the money i save on buyinmg a kit is made up with the postage 1st time in my life i wish was in the states

    • We’re trying. But it’s taking so much time.

  • Lavoz24

    Hey KipKay,
I see you have lots,if not thousands, of SuperFans across the pond. I think that’s so cool! I also see how much they love your kits and how much they would love to purchase many of them if it weren’t for those darn custom fees, postage, air mail fee, etc.
They get really bummed out over not being able to purchase a kit just because the fees cost more than the kits. I know, it’s ridiculous huh? I’m certain you’ve already thought about this and if you haven’t brainstormed with your Staff over this, you’re probably doing it now. I suggest, if it’s not already in the works, you find someone or a group of people to be distributors of your KipKay kits over in Europe,Spain, India, Sweden, Africa, Australia, etc.
You could send the kits over in bulk and have them distributed when they get to their destination. Now I’m also certain, if you’re in the works of doing this, you’re also looking for distribution companies. If I may suggest one more thing I’ll stop bugging you, lol. To keep costs even lower, instead of using big companies or companies at all, why not get people to do the distribution? That way, instead of having to pay ridiculous amounts of money to one company who will then have to pay for postage over there and then overcharge you. You could get one major distribution spot who will then send out smaller orders to people or places in a city and from that place the person could either mail out the kit or have the purchaser pick it up.
It’s only a suggestion and I share my thought with you because even to ship from China to London or Spain is costly. According to the charts I’ve seen on eBay. So instead of sending everything to let’s say London to then mail out individual kits from there, which could end up being costly, you could mail to Spain,England,Sweden,Australia, etc. and have the kits sent out from there.
The only issue I say or I think you would have is finding people who are reliable, trusting, have a few years in distribution and won’t cheat you out of parts and money.
But your KipKay, you’re world known so I’m certain you and your team know people overseas whom you can trust will do the job in an efficient, professional manner and who will be on par when it comes to the finances.
Just a thought I had. Have a wonderful day KipKay! God bless.

  • Lavoz24

New kit suggestions: something that etches. (Like it’ll use a small diamond bit. It would be controlled by Arduino so you can tell it what you want etched), or how about the fan that removes the smoke when you solder? I’ve been searching for fans cheap enough for me to buy(limited budget), spare chicken wire(no avail, smh) and other parts, so I’m stuck here yearning for this because it’ll help me out a bunch.
You one time said, “something smart” as a months kit. I suggest something connected to your phone via Internet that’ll tell you if someone is in your home. It could come included with a spy cam (guru kit) so you could see who it is.
Or even, (this one is my favorite, just don’t know how to put it together), a home video answering machine! It could be done same as the popsi opener except instead of opening, the person would hear a recording saying to leave a message. Now, here’s the good part! LoL! You have a spy cam looking at them with a mic attached to your door or a bush or even under the porch light where they could record the message. At the same time you are recording them.
You could make it smart by adding a small 4″ screen so the person could see you and connect it to the internet. So when the person knocks or rings the bell, you’ll get an alert on your phone (tons of free apps that you could use). All you have to do is talk to them through a speaker you have somewhere and see them and their response.
I know this last one might be costly or one May think it could be costly but it really isn’t. We could incorporate the speaker kit we have, we could use the laser kit we have(that way we know we have a visitor before they reach the door). All we’ll need is a spy camera, a high def,low costing mini-microphone(like the one’s used in cell phones). We could use motion detectors if the lasers are being used for something else.
Hope this will help with other ideas you have for future kits.

    • THIS IS AWESOME!

      • Lavoz24

Sure KipKay, I would really like that! I’ll email Jonathan right now. nThank you for this KipKay.

  • DMartin

Any chance of you taking some pictures of your crazy store? Love to see what is involved in the ole KIPKAY HQ!

  • Jamey

how do you obtain the free bonuses from the emails

    • Lavoz24

Buy something from the KipKay store.

  • Anon Emouse

With solar charger will it drain the batteries if it isn’t creating power because i have a solar charger and we took it hiking and when we were in the shade it ended up draining the batteries of our device. thanks

    • Lavoz24

      Hey Anon Emouse,
First, did you buy the solar charger from KipKay? If so and If you made a solar charger you need to use a diode, if you have the diode and it’s draining, make sure the diode is soldered on correctly(black band facing away from solar panel). If it’s not, all that precious charge will keep draining out. If it is soldered on correctly, I suggest you check everything again, use a multimeter to make sure everything is correct. I’m certain you’ll find the issue.

      • Anon Emouse

The solar charger that drained my devices was called a solar monkey and i haven’t bought the kit yet i just wanted to make sure it wasn’t going to drain what ever i charge.

        • Lavoz24

Going on my experience with the KipKay solar/USB charger, I’ve never had it drain anything I’ve charged with it. As long as everything is done correctly and the diode is placed in the correct direction you shouldn’t have an issue. I’ve used mine to charge and recharge batteries and once fully charged(check w/a multimeter to see when the batteries are full) I removed them to save for later and they’ve been good.
I’ve also used the KipKay solar/USB charger to charge a smartphone. Granted, it took forever to charge because the panel was a small one but it worked and I even tested the KipKay solar/USB charger y keeping the batteries in the holder after I was done charging them to see if they would drain but they didn’t.
I’m not saying batteries aren’t going to lose charge because eventually they do, I’m saying it didn’t lose charge because of the charger.
As for the solar monkey, I suggest you exchange it for a working model or get your money back, if you can. If you can’t and you have experience with DIY projects, open it up and check to see what’s causing the issue and repair it yourself.

          • Anon Emouse

Thank you so much you have been an amazing help. i really think kip needs to add a place on the kipkay kits website where talented people like you can chat with beginners just about problems and about the questions they have. it would be run by members for members. (it would also give kip a break)

  • Brandon Fa

    Hi Kipkay

I’d like to see here in the store materials to make some of the projects in you non-kipkay kits videos. Or even the ones from a while back. That is if you can still find the parts in a huge quantity.

  • I hear that Kip has added 2 new bonuses for people who have bought anything from his store but I am a kid under 15 and my parents are STRICT and won’t let me buy anything. I have told them its for educational perposes but the cost of living in Australia means it is expensive. So I want to ask Kip why are the bonuses ONLY for people who have bought stuff.
    – PGJonty

    • Lavoz24

it’s for promotional purposes. Just like supermarkets have buy one get one free sales, credit cards give your parents $1 back for every $10 they spend using that card, KipKay is giving bonus’ to people who buy from his store. There isn’t anything wrong with it.
Have your parents take a look at his site and see all the good he is doing. Maybe they’ll change their minds but please don’t get upset at KipKay or anyone for proper marketing.
I suggest making trades for the kits you want young PG. At 15 I would do chores for my neighbors, help my teachers after school doing chores around their house and I would go around to the stores in my area and see if they needed anything done. Instead of being paid, I would explain to them what I wanted to buy and they would buy it for me as a form of payment. In my opinion I think trading is better than being paid. Sometimes you won’t have to do much work and you would still get what you need all because you’re proving you are a young man of your word and you are doing something educational. Give it a try PG, the worst that can happen is someone say No. You never know, maybe you’ll get others interested in KipKay’s site and get free monthly memberships just for referring people!!!
      All the best!

      • Lavoz24

One last thing PG, I don’t know if you knew but KipKay has an option where you could have a monthly subscription to his videos. This way, you’ll be up to date with anything he puts up kipkaykits.com. He also has,on the middle left of this screen, an email sign-up section. Once you sign up, you’ll get EVERY email KipKay sends to his SuperFans.

  • Lavoz24

More suggestions for store items and kits: a sewing kit using electrical thread and l.e.d.’s we could sew onto our clothing or projects. If at all possible, so e type of kit using EL wire. Being EL wire could get expensive, I suggest sending out different size wire for each kit. You could make a learn electronics kit,I know many other companies have it but you could put your special KipKay spin on it.
What if you go a different way and instead of doing electronics every month you could do kits having us make magnetic/metal clay, some type of smart putty(like homemade Sugru) or something non-electronic we could use with our previous and future projects.

  • Brandon Fa

I’d really like to see some cheaper shipping to Canada because 15 dollars is way too expensive every month when 1 kit costs 20 dollars.

  • Chirag Goel

Im confused, how do we get the free minecraft kit?

    • Lavoz24

Buy something from the KipKay kits store.

      • Chirag Goel

That’s it? all we have to do is buy something, and we get it? Is there like a minimum price of the thing we have to buy?

        • Lavoz24

Yes, that’s it! But, you have to order quickly, like NOW because there are less than 25 kits left. Not only that but you’ll also receive a 50% off coupon for a future purchase. Isn’t that awesome?!?!?!?

          • Chirag Goel

so i can buy like a momentary switch and get thse 2 boneses?!

          • Lavoz24

I don’t know if it includes parts but if it does my question to you is, why would you want to do that to so done who is being generous with us?
I’m beginning to think someone is trolling but if you are serious about these questions, I suggest you email Jonathan and he will answer your questions in detail. Have a nice day.

    • Lavoz took care of your question!

  • Larry

My wife keeps a tight watch on our money flow. Once she gave me the green light to purchase a kit for the kids and us, I was pretty saddened to find out the kit we were interested in ( 2x Bamboo salt box speaker kit) is out of stock. It figures.

  • Sam Shim

I finally decided to order a kit to try out! But just a small request with the store. I noticed that you have a wide variety of different neat stuff, but no neodymium magnets. Maybe add a couple different sizes of those? Anyways I love the new store and keep up the good work!

    • Lavoz24

Although he said he was still adding more products to his store I have to agree. Paleeeeeezzzzzze add neodymium magnets of different sizes.

    • Will do

      • Sam Shim

        Thank you!

  • Sam Shim

Oh, quick question. Which multimeter do you use?

    • We don’t use a particular brand we just use one we found on craigstlist: Radioshack Digital Multimeter: no. 2200811

  • Jennifer Walker Westmoreland

The discount code is not working. Only taking off $24 of a $52 order, so what am i doing wrong??? The email specifically says 70% off of my entire order…???

    • Lavoz24

It’s 70% all together miss Jennifer. The 30% that’s already off plus another 40% which is really around 45-47% dependent to what is ordered. If you email Jonathan he will explain in better detail.

  • Dan Aaronson

What do these packages ship by?

    • Hey Dan,nnnShould be by this wednesday.

  • broyle

when will we be receiving our kits that we purchased and/or the bonus

  • Abran James Mendiola

Kipkay I ordered a soldering iron solder and a solar usb charger during the launch on the 30th and the order says still processing and I haven’t got the bonus #1 or 2 yet email the email said to wait and do nothing

  • Captain Awesome

What about a FM Transmitter kit ? Sounds great, no ?

    • Sam Shim

That would be a fun kit. There’s already a few videos on how to build one but none from kipkay, so I agree it does sound pretty cool.

    • Wow. Actually building that right now. But, we failed toooo many times. So we had to put it on the shelf at the moment.

      • Captain Awesome

        Really ?! Cool !

  • Richard

a diy gaming console would be pretty cool but i think that might be out of the question

    • MiningSheep1

Yeah, you would have to program games, and you would have to have the right software, you would have to transfer the files to the DVD or system itself, and in the end it is just not worth the time.

  • MiningSheep1

This store is amazing! I couldn’t find any LEDs or solder or soldering irons that weren’t extremely overpriced. Thanks!

  • Jamey

I ordered a tool kit and a usb charger but I only got the tool kit, and I also haven’t received either bonus

    • Hey Jamey, nnnYou shall be receiving an email on Tuesday about the bonuses. Thanks so much for your patience.

  • Matt

Hi Kipkay and crew,nI have been following you since I can remember when, and that has gotten me into doing my own DIY. I took your beat box LED and modified it just a little. i hacked a CPU, yes i know not the smartest thing to do, for the 12v, 5v, and 3.3v. I used the 12v to power the LEDs and for the sound i used an old audio cable and bought a audio jack so I could use headphone or speakers and still have the LEDs “dance”. After i did that I thought to my self “why not do the kipkay kits?” so I did, and I am glad I did. nnA BIG THANK YOU KIPKAY AND CREW. I know its not easy to put the kits out on time put to me its worth it. nFrom a BIG fan nMatt

    • Hey Matt!!!nnnAwesome. Thank you so much 😀

  • Sackbotz123

I am wondering when the 8x8x8 arduino led cube will come out. i ordered it when there was a 30% and a 70% off discount. Thanks for the great kits.

    • Hey Sack! It says coming soon. It still in the ending development stage. 😀

  • Thomas Robert Wade

Hi, I made an order 2 weeks ago today, but in My Account it still says that it’s Processing. Is this because the store just opened so it’s taking a while to ship them all. Thanks in advance if I get a reply.

    • I’m back from a long weekend of packing your kits! I’m touching back up on Customer Service stuff as well. Thomas. I will take a crack at your orders in about a couple hours. Thanks for your patience!

      • Thomas Robert Wade

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I assumed that due to all the orders and the free Minecraft Torch Kits you had to add that it was taking longer than usual. Also, I’m a lot happier now as one of the things that I have been waiting for that was really late has arrived so I have something to keep me occupied now until my stuff from you arrives.

      • Thomas Robert Wade

The order page still says that my order is processing. Is everything ok over there for you all?

  • MiningSheep1

Hello KipKay, nnnI ordered my products on October 31, and I have yet to know anything about the bonuses. Did I buy the items too late for the bonus? Or did you not say anything about them yet? Please let me know soon :)nnnSincerly,n MiningSheep1 😀

    • Hey Miningsheep!nnnYou’re going to get an email on Tuesday to explain all the bonuses. Something crazy happened this weekend and we’re resolving the issue. As they say, when it rains it pours.

  • David Benge

I apologize I should be more specific I see that the hobbyist mine craft torch kit includes the micro controller used to make it flicker realistically and it’s really neat. I want my torch to do the same so if the free bonus does not include the hobbyist version where would I go about purchasing the micro controller to make it flicker realistically?

    • Lavoz24

      Hey David,
Email Jonathan if you didn’t receive one and he will help you.

  • Dan Aaronson

Where can I find the instructions for the arduino kit?

  • Matt

hey kipkay and crew I was looking through the store and was wondering if you had and other DIY that would be kid safe (under the age of 2) my two boys and I love to make things (more of me making and them watching) together. we have done all the ones that we can in the store that I thought were kid safe ie: no showing wiring and wont break when dropped or throne they them lol or something small enough to be eaten and they tried to with the blinkies and fireflies so if you have any DIY coming or where I can print what I need and how to make it that would be great thanks guys and girls if there are girls lol

  • Matt

Hi Kipkay and Team. I am a father of 2 boys (a 2 year and 1 year old) and they love to watch me build. I plan to get the led cube for them to play with well more like watch it. I was wondering if you had any kid safe builds coming up or know of any that I can do for them. I do need it so that they can hold it and play with it and not eat it. LOL. One more thing I cant decide on the 3×3 or the 4×4. Most of my builds plug in and I have toggles for all of them so they can turn them on I am worried about batteries as they love to keep them on. can I still do the 3×3 with a wall wart? Thanks guys and girls(im sure there is at less one girl working).

    • Lavoz24

      Hey Matt,
For your kids I suggest getting the Minecraft torch kit for them. It does come with a cardboard housing but if you go to the dollar store and get one of those plastic or metal flashlights and tweak it a bit you could use that instead of the cardboard. I also suggest the LED throwies and blinkies for them and even though it’s a small part you could put them in balloons or spray paint plastic water bottles with frost like and place them inside. That way your boys could throw them around without worry of parts going missing.
As for the LED cube kit, I think the 4x4x4 would be better because when you program a light sequence the bigger the grid the better it would look. If you aren’t worried about the look you could use a wall wart and a barrel jack with the 3×3. You would need to install it like the 4×4.
If you want more ideas check out KIPKAY’s YouTube channel. He has loads of DIY videos. Also go to KipKay.com, you could DL schematics and get more ideas on what to do.

  • tigerjedi5

I’m looking for a good soldering station that comes with different tips and ia under $60 can anyone help?

    • Lavoz24

For a station I say check Radio Shack. I bought mine for $30 getting a 70% discount. Now they have another special going on so go online and see what would be good for you because they have many.
If you want just a soldering kit, I suggest you get one from here. It’s low costing and worth it.

  • etnguyen03

Sorry, but what is the coupon code for the free Minecraft torch? I lost the email.

  • tigerjedi5

I’m trying to find a good soldring station that comes with multiple tips and a 20-30 watt soldering iron for under $60, can anyone help?

    • Matt

I got helping hands from my radio shack I think I paid like 15 for it and the soldering iron in the store here is a good I am going to order a full tool kit here best price I could find

    • Lavoz24

Kipkay’s store has a 30 watt soldering iron. For a solder station under $60. I’m not sure as I’ve never seen any for that price unless it’s on sale. I suggest you check radio shack to see if they have any on sale. If they don’t, check eBay,amazon, maker shed or any of the millions of online stores.

  • Eric Lopez

    Hi Kipkay
I would like to know when the 8x8x8 Arduino Based LED Cube will be available? Also, what parts will it come with and if I will be able to code it myself? Thanks!

    • Joshua Post

I’m not sure when it is coming out, but since it says Arduino based, you should be able to reprogram the chip. When I built my 5x5x5 I connected the wires to headers to plug into my Kipduino so I could connect it USB to my computer and update the program and run troubleshooting as I changed the code. I assume this will just be an expansion on that basis.

    • Lavoz24

Eric, they are working on it at the moment and it shall be out soon.
This is what I like about KipKay and his engineer’s, they won’t put out a kit until they’ve made it relatively easy to build.

      • Eric Lopez

Thank you for the response Lavoz24. I can’t wait for it to come out!

  • Eric Lopez

Hi Kipkay. I would like to know if the 8x8x8 Arduino LED Cube will be available for sale anytime soon? Or atleast the description of what it will come with. Thanks!

  • Brandon Fa

My order that i placed during black friday is on hold. I ordered at 9:56am est

    • Lavoz24

If you mean that is says it’s still processing, I think it’s a glitch in the the way the post office has it’s tracking system set up for KipKay kits Brandon. I too have this way and so do other SuperFans. I give it 7-10 days after I get the email giving me the tracking number to receive my kits. That’s if you live in the US, if you live across the pond it may take a bit longer.

  • Matt

would anyone know if I can power the clock or 4v4 with 2 AA batteries or a 9v battery I’m and to the point of over loading the braker with all my light up stuff for my two boys. they love the light up stuff so I have to rocker switch everything. I’m good at wiring in the rocker switch so that it works both battery and outlet power I even have some that run on both not easy to do but I do it lol. the clock is for my truck hope it can stand the cold. but ya if anyone know of what I can do for battery power on both of them please let me know. thanks ahead of time.

    • Joshua Post

You should be able to use 3 AA batteries as this would be 4.5 v. A 9v would be too much power.
The clock is not very accurate and the oscillator is subject to variations in temperature so using it in a truck would probably not be very practical.

  • Abran James Mendiola

4 days ago I ordered stuff how a come it’s still processing

    • Lavoz24

It’s like that for everyone Abran. I think it’s a glitch with the way the post office has it’s tracking set up for KipKay kits.
I always give it 7-10 days after I get the tracking number from KipKay.

  • Dawson

    Hi Kipkay
My name is Dawson and I am 12. My parents got me a early gift for Christmas, a subscription to your store and it was the best thing ever. I also got a 3x3x3 LED cube for FREE it is so AWESOME Thank you very much and I love your videos and I am a super fan too.

    • Joshua Post

Looking forward to seeing your work!

    • Lavoz24

Yay Dawson! Your parents rock! Enjoy the kits and welcome!

      • Dawson

        thanks

  • Matt

Hey everyone on kipkay. I am going to make some ones day. better yet Christmas. how I am going to do this is I well buy you ONE kit. now the rules 1. I choose the size of the gift, all you tell me is what kit you would like i.e. led cube, clock, speakers, ect. 2. you must email me at [email protected] as to my I should pick you. 3. you may only send one email this is to make it so that everyone has a chance. Now I have one request from EVERYONE if you can do the same as I am doing now I ask that you help someone that would like a kit. I well have this open till 12/31/2014 that is the end of this year. I well let the winner know by 1/7/2015. Yes I know that is not Christmas but it will be a late gift. Good luck everyone and Marry Christmas (Happy Holidays)

what happened to the $70 gift card? i saw it yesterday and today it’s not there.

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

      It expireedded 🙁

  • Gadgetron

Are you ever going to sell red leds separately?

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

Yes. A new batch just arrived. If you’d like just purchase some blue ones, and I’ll make a note to get reds to you!

      • Gadgetron

I’m good for now, I was just curious. Thanks for the offer though!

  • Jon Oman

Hey KipKay how much would it be to get 2 of the at tiny chips that you used on the minecraft torches to make them flicker

    • Jimmy from Kipkay’s Team

      Hey Jon,

We don’t sell them individually (because they require manual programming). We will soon sell empty ATTiny45 chips for $1.5 each.

  • Dawson

    Hi Mr.Kipkay
I was wondering if maybe you could put a project holders (helping hands) on your store.
Also I love the 3x3x3 LED cube I got on Black Friday.
    Keep up the great work.

    • Sam Shim

I agree. That would be very… helpful. Okay that was a bad joke.

  • Skyler

I never received my LED 3x3x3 cube from Black Friday. I looked at the tracking number and it said it was already delivered along with my test cables and solar battery charger. When i pulled everything out, it wasn’t there and I emailed Jonathan and he was emailing me bacj for a while but i think he went on break or something.

    • Joshua Post

E-mail them again. I’ve received e-mails within the last 3 days from them, so they are replying.

      • Skyler

alright. hes been emailing me but he seems to be busy. I received it yesterday. I guess it was just USPS. But its all good now:D thanks

  • Sam Shim

Can you start selling coin cell battery holders?

    • Joshua Post

      Good idea!

  • Attendedgamer .

    Hey kipkay,
I have been trying to make the cheaply lighter laser burn for a while and I’m new to wiring so the diagram in your video wasn’t very helpful so I was wandering if there was anouther on because the driver I got from the video like isn’t the same as the video if you could help it would be much appreciated.
    Sincerely, Jarrin

  • MrSkiller

Kip, I bought digital clock kit (beginner) and I don’t get 1 capacitor !

    • Sam Shim

The same thing happened to me. I ordered a kit and it didn’t have all the parts. If you shoot him a quick email, he’ll fix you right up.

  • Tom Dang

    Hey KipKay,

I recently bought a 5x5x5 arduino kit and when I recieved it. I noticed ALOT of things were missing. I contacted support over a week ago and have not received a response.

    • Joshua Post

How did you contact support? Was it through the Support page or direct e-mail to support (at) kipkaykits.com

      • Tom Dang

I contacted support by the Support page and the direct email, I just heard back two days ago.

  • Harrison Corey

where can i find the wire you use, i have been having “issues” with finding it on amazon because i live in canada and we don’t get as much shipped here, Thanks -Harrison

  • redstonesb

can you add color changing leds?

    • Joshua Post

You could but it would require a couple mole the redesign as each led would need 4 connections for an RGB led vs a single color led having only 2 connections

      • David Fries

Two contact RGB slow color change LEDs exist, here’s one source. I don’t know what they use to decide what they will carry, but asking helps.
        https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11450

        • redstonesb

ya that’s what i was thinking ty 🙂

  • redstonesb

thank you but i men’t to Kipkay’s store i thaw’t it might be some thing people might want to buy frum him. 🙂

    • Joshua Post

Ah, I understand now. My mistake. Previously others had asked about replacing the LEDs in the cube project with RGB LEDs to be able to change the colors along with the patterns, and my mind just jumped right to that.

  • redstonesb

    no problem 🙂

    • redstonesb

thank you for trying to help.

  • broyle

    I have a few questions:
2.Do you think you could add battery holders for the coin cell batteries to the store?
    3. Do you know if it’s possible to hook up a camera to the laser trip wire so when someone crosses the line the photo is taken?{possibly with a servo motor or something} .

Also the pins on my temperature sensor for my led faucet light has broken can I be sent a new one?

  • Eric Hankey

Hi- I’ve been a member of Kipkay kits for 5 months to give the kits to my son. This month’s kit, the infrared light control, looked really great, and he did a pretty good job soldering, but it shorted out when he plugged it in. Can I purchase another one?
    Thanks,
    Eric

    • Joshua Post

Often when the source of the short is identified and corrected, the project may work properly. If not, try down to narrow down what component has malfunctioned and email support at kipkay kits.com with your order number and what piece isn’t working and often they can help out.

      • Eric Hankey

Ok, here’s the problem – I gave him a really cheap soldering iron, which I didn’t realize had completely disintegrated at the tip. Like a trooper, he tried to assemble the whole thing using it, without complaining. As you may be able to see in the picture, many of the solder joints are too large, and lots of the insulation is burnt or missing. I’d like to purchase a replacement kit, and one of your good soldering irons, so he can start over. He’s 13, just getting interested in this, and very sad that this project went together so poorly, through no fault of his own.

        • Joshua Post

The tip on the soldering iron I purchased through the KipKay Store back in April only lasted 1 project before it eroded away as well. I’m sure part of it was due to my own soldering skills and not cleaning and tinning it after every solder joint, but some of it was due to a lower quality tip and possibly solder. I ended up replacing the tip on my KipKay iron with one of these from Amazon:
          http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008LTIIB0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I’ve done 3 additional projects with 1 tip and it still looks brand new. It does fit a little looser than the original, but seemed to work ok. I ended up getting a higher end iron that heats much faster now, but that is something that can come in time.

I don’t see the IR Control kit in the store yet, so again I would recommend you e-mail support at kipkaykits.com and ask them if you can buy another one directly through them since there isn’t a store listing yet.

          • Brandon Fa

I bought a weller soldering iron about june 2013 and it has not failed for me yet. It is still working and i have not had to replace the tip for over 12 projects. The tip is still in very good condition.

  • Jon from Cali

Before the holidays, I bought a bunch of stuff, 5×5 LED, minecraft torch, batteries, etc.
I ended up with a bunch of transistors left over, and have no idea what they go to. Does anyone know what about 20 transistors would be used for?

  • Dylan Coates

Hey KipKay, I thought of a kit idea. Sadly my membership expired as I could no longer afford it so I am unable to go to the suggestions page. My idea is a pop pop boat. Beginner kit can make the pop pop boat itself, advanced kit can add radio controls to it so they can steer it in the water, and hobbyist kit can maybe add items such as lights or something that can be triggered via the remote control? IE. Police lights for a mini radio controlled police boat? Idk maybe you guys can think of something else for the hobbyist kit.

    • I think I will. I’m sorry it took so long for me to get started on this project. If you have any more ideas just let me know!

  • Michael Frogget

For those interested, WatchMojo.com just uploaded a video of their top ten How-To YouTube Channels; and Kipkay is one of the channels mentioned on the list! Awesome! Here is the link:

can you sell your 26 AWG wires here please, I’m having trouble looking forth myself:(

    • David Fries

Try looking up the following on amazon.com, it can be bought by the spool, or a kit with multiple colors. For these kits I’ve found stranded to solder better than solid.

“26 AWG Gauge Stranded Hook-Up Wire Kit”
